Considered Australia’s most prestigious racewear event, the Victoria Racing Club’s famed fashion competition will expand this year to include digital entries from across the world.

In celebration of the international announcement, the Victoria Racing Club took the Cup trophy to London to visit international models Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia, the twin daughters of the late Princess Diana’s brother Charles, the 9th Earl Spencer.

“Racewear fashion really is its own category and I know there will be some amazing international entries”

“It's always so exciting to get dressed up for a day at the races, no matter the location, and we know there are fashion lovers across the world who feel the same.”, Lady Eliza added.

Lady Amelia said she was looking forward to seeing the entries from worldwide.

“It was great to discover some wonderful Australian labels at our Melbourne Cup Carnival Fashions on the Filed shoot in London and I can’t wait to see the style and creativity of entrants this year,” Lady Amelia said.

In 2022, the VRC toasted 60 years of Fashions on the Field and proved the traditionally conservative club was galloping ahead in progression after it made the men’s and women’s categories more inclusive with the style-led Best Dressed and Best Suited Awards.

“As we look ahead to Cup Week this year we are pleased to open the Melbourne Cup Carnival Fashions on the Field competition to a global audience for the first time,” VRC chairman Neil Wilson said.
